The following words are common vocabulary terms that are frequently used in the racing of sled dogs, the Iditarod, and being a musher.

Booties	What the dogs where on their feet.
Burled Arch	The finish line.
Whoa	Is something you yell when you are excited or didn't expect something.
Dog in a Basket	An injured or tired dog in the sled.
Double Lead	Two dogs that lead the team together.
Dropped Dog	A dog that has been dropped off until it's team reaches Anchorage.
Gee	Means turn right for the dogs.
Haw	Is the cammand to turn left.
overflow	Where the ice get to thick and has no where to go.
Swing Dog or Dogs	When the dog or dogs is in front of the team.
Team Dog	Any other kind of dog on the team.
Lead dog or leader	The dog that leads the pack.
